Small Town, Big Skyline

Whether it’s clouds, stars, aurora, trees, or city lights, reflections make everything more beautiful.

Sylvan Lake, Canada is a relatively small town and to most residents and visitors it feels nothing like a big city. There are no tall buildings to create an impressive skyline but when you combine a few small well-lit buildings with calm water during the blue hour before night descends, the lakeshore takes on its own charm.

This image was created in the early spring when much of the lake was still covered in its winter blanket of snow and ice and the patches of open water were constantly shifting with the wind.

A viewer of this printed image said “There’s no need to visit San Fransisco when we have this!”, but then they might be a biased local.
