Painted Aspens

It is not uncommon for me to revisit a location or subject over and over again, and each time I see different things and come away with different images.

The pastel quality of the autumnal colours set against the contrasting turquoise waters of Abraham Lake, inspired me to play and create some painterly effects with my camera.

The annual flooding that occurs at Abraham Lake in the Canadian Rockies is not a natural occurrence as the lake is a human created reservoir.

The flooding creates a unique opportunity to photograph Aspen in autumn colour surrounded by water but it does beg the question, at what eventual cost to our natural spaces?

These similar images work together beautifully as a set.
