Night Rainbow

As an “aurora chaser” I have come to realize that almost every display of the lights starts with a simple green band or arc across the northern horizon.

When you see this band, and especially if the possibility of seeing aurora has been forecasted, it’s time to get out!

On this particular night the lights did not become very active, but I was drawn to the simplicity and symmetry of the shapes and the tinges of purple which are not as commonly seen.

Every single display of aurora is unique and that fills me with awe and wonder.
